ZapVox — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the ZapVox extension ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not install or use the Service.

Current status: ZapVox is in public BETA. This means new features may be added, modified, or removed from time to time, and occasional instability may occur. By using the Service you acknowledge and accept that it is under continuous improvement.

2. Service Description

ZapVox is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge that allows you to transcribe, translate, summarize, and analyze audio messages on WhatsApp Web using artificial intelligence.

The Service offers:

Local transcription: Audio-to-text conversion using the Whisper model (local processing in your browser, with no data sent to servers).
API transcription (BYOK): The ability to use your own API keys (Groq or OpenAI) for cloud transcription.
Translation and summarization (Pro): Translation and summarization of transcribed text using cloud services.
Sentiment analysis (Pro): Identification of the predominant emotional tone of a transcribed audio, displayed in an indicator separate from the transcription itself.
Auto-transcription: Automatic transcription of new received audio (requires explicit consent).

3. Plans and Pricing

3.1 Free Plan

Unlimited local transcription via Whisper (100% on-device)
0 cloud transcriptions per day (local only + unlimited BYOK)
Up to 30 translations per day (English only)
Watermark on transcriptions

3.2 Trial (7 days)

Automatically activated on first Google login
Up to 15 cloud operations per day
Access to all Pro features
Automatically reverts to Free plan after expiration

3.3 Pro Plan

Unlimited transcriptions, translations, and summaries
Removable watermark
Pricing: $3.99/month, $27.99/year, or $47.99/biennial
Payment processed by Stripe

        Transparency: Local transcription (Whisper) is always free and unlimited on all plans. The billing system applies only to features that use cloud servers.
      

4. Account and Authentication

Some features require a Google account for authentication. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your credentials.

ZapVox uses OAuth authentication via Google Sign-In, managed by Supabase Auth. We do not have access to your Google password.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use ZapVox responsibly and legally. It is prohibited to:

Use the Service to transcribe audio without the knowledge or consent of conversation participants when required by law
Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or any part of it
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to bypass usage limits, authentication systems, or protection mechanisms
Share or transfer your account or BYOK keys with third parties

6. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

The Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) feature allows you to use your own API keys for Groq or OpenAI services. When using this functionality:

You are responsible for your API keys and costs associated with using those APIs
Your keys are encrypted locally (AES-GCM 256-bit) and never transmitted to our servers
ZapVox is not responsible for costs incurred from BYOK key usage
You must comply with the Terms of Service of the respective providers (Groq, OpenAI)

7. Intellectual Property

ZapVox, including its source code, design, icons, and documentation, is owned by Diegomaier Nunes Neri and is protected by copyright law.

The transcriptions, translations, and summaries generated from YOUR audio content remain your property. ZapVox does not claim rights to the content you process through the Service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

Transcriptions will be 100% accurate (quality depends on audio clarity, language, and model used)
The Service will be available uninterrupted or error-free
The Service will be compatible with future updates to WhatsApp Web or Chrome

Important Notice: Transcription accuracy varies based on audio quality, accents, background noise, and language. Do not use ZapVox transcriptions as the sole reference for critical decisions without manual verification.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZapVox and its developer shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to:

Loss of data or transcriptions
Errors or inaccuracies in transcriptions, translations, or summaries
Service interruptions caused by WhatsApp Web or Chrome updates
Costs incurred from using BYOK keys with third-party APIs

10. Payments and Refunds

Pro plan payments are processed by Stripe. ZapVox does not store credit card data.

Subscriptions automatically renew based on the chosen cycle (monthly, annual, or biennial)
Cancellations can be made anytime via the extension popup; Pro access continues until the end of the paid cycle

10.1 Refund Policy

        Right of Withdrawal (Brazilian Consumer Code Art. 49): You may request a full refund within 7 (seven) calendar days of purchase, for any reason, no questions asked. This right is guaranteed by Brazilian consumer protection law for online purchases.
      

Within 7 days of purchase: Full refund for any plan, no questions asked (CDC Art. 49)
After 7 days: No refund. ZapVox offers a free 7-day Trial + the 7-day withdrawal period, giving you up to 14 days to evaluate the service before committing

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via notification in the extension. Continued use of the Service after posting changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Upon termination, the sections on Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law remain in effect.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction where the developer resides.

ZapVox is available to users internationally and complies with applicable laws in different jurisdictions. However, Brazilian law governs the interpretation and enforcement of these Terms.

14. Data Protection and LGPD Compliance

ZapVox is committed to protecting your personal data and complies with the General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados - LGPD) in Brazil and internationally applicable data protection regulations including GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for users in the European Union.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of BYOK keys and secure transmission of cloud-based operations. Local transcription data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to use cloud features.

15. Privacy
