1. Open the store and click “Add to Chrome”
Tap the button below to open the official ZapVox page on the Chrome Web Store. There, click the blue “Add to Chrome” button.
Install on Chrome →2. Confirm the installation
Chrome shows a small dialog asking whether to add the extension. Click “Add extension”. Done — ZapVox is installed.
3. Pin ZapVox to the bar (recommended)
Click the puzzle-piece 🧩 icon at the top-right of Chrome — that is where extensions live. Next to "ZapVox", click the pin 📌 to keep it always visible.
4. Open WhatsApp Web and use it
Go to web.whatsapp.com and scan the QR code with your phone, as you normally do. A transcribe button appears under each voice note. Click it and the text shows up instantly.
Done! That's it.
From now on, any voice note on WhatsApp Web becomes text with one click.

Is it free?
Yes. The free plan allows 10 transcriptions per day. You can also use your own API key (Groq or OpenAI) with no subscription, or subscribe to Pro for heavier use.
Does it work in my browser?
It works on Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers. It does not work on Safari or Firefox.
Do I need to install anything on my phone?
No. ZapVox runs only on the computer, in WhatsApp Web. Your phone stays the same — it just needs to be linked to WhatsApp Web as usual.
I installed it but the button didn't appear. Now what?
Reload the WhatsApp Web page (press F5). The transcribe button appears under each voice note. If it still doesn't show, check that the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions.
Does ZapVox read my conversations?
No. It only acts on the audios you ask it to transcribe. The audio is processed in the cloud to become text and is not stored by us.
