From the start ZapVox had two plans: Free, with 10 transcriptions a day, and Pro, with 150 a day and everything unlocked, for R$ 29.90/month. Between the two, nothing. And that was exactly where most people lived.

When I looked at real usage over the last 30 days, the picture was this: people on Free use 6 transcriptions a day on average — and two in three hit the cap of 10 on some day of the week. People paying for Pro use, at the median, 12 a day. Pro was selling 150 to people who use 12; Free was stopping people who needed 20.

What Starter is

Starter costs R$ 14.90 a month and has the same features as Pro: automatic translation into 99+ languages, AI summary, topics, sentiment analysis, custom glossary, transcript export, whole-chat summary, per-contact notes and reminders — and no watermark on the transcriptions you copy.

What changes are the limits, sized for one person:

  • 60 transcriptions a day (per feature type) — six times Free;
  • up to 30 minutes of audio a day — the average WhatsApp voice note is 30 to 40 seconds, so that covers the 60;
  • 1 computer;
  • 30 scheduled messages a day.

Counters reset at midnight, Brasília time. And as on every plan, your own AI key (BYOK) stays available: with it, transcription runs through your key and does not consume ZapVox's quota.

What stays Pro-only

Pro (R$ 29.90/month, or R$ 199.90/year) remains the plan for people who work on WhatsApp: 150 transcriptions and 150 minutes of audio a day, 100 scheduled messages a day, extra computers (R$ 9.90/month each, to use the same account on more than one computer at the same time), extra quota when 150 is not enough, and priority support.

The rule is simple: if you transcribe the audios you receive, Starter fits. If you need more than one computer at the same time, or your volume goes past 60 on a normal day, it is Pro.

How to switch between them

In the dashboard, under My account → Change plan. You do not cancel anything or subscribe again: Stripe charges (or credits) the difference for the current cycle proportionally, and the new limits apply immediately. To move down from Pro to Starter you first cancel the add-ons (extra computer, extra quota), because they belong to Pro.

Why 60 and 30, not 75 and 75

Because the price has to hold without depending on anyone using little. Every minute of audio transcribed in the cloud has a real cost. Starter's limits were calculated so that even someone who uses the full 30 minutes every day of the month leaves the plan paying its own bill — so it does not need to be repriced in three months and does not depend on a promotion to exist. It is not a coupon: it is the price.
